Australian interest rates held again

6 March, 2012

The Reserve Bank of Australia this morning held interest rates at 4.25%, in a widely expected move. The Australian dollar held steady on the news at 3.30am UK time, and rates for sending money to Australia are currently sitting at their best since January, although overall rates remain low compared to recent years.

In the UK this morning, house price data from the Halifax has shown a 0.5% fall in house prices in February, causing the Pound to fall slightly as the fragile economic recovery remains responsive to any negative news.
