In order to comply with HM Revenue & Custom’s Money Laundering Regulations all our clients must provide ID information before they can transmit funds using our services.

Personal Clients

We can perform an Online ID check, however there are many reasons that Online ID checks are not suitable for all clients, including non-UK residents or simply living at an address for a short period. Fortunately there is a simple alternative – Certified ID Documentation. Below are the details of what is required:

Picture Identification – We require a copy of either, your passport, national ID card or driving licence (both picture card and counterpart). This needs to be a very clear copy, i.e. easily identifiable picture, and needs to be certified as detailed below.
Proof of Address – We also require a utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 3 months (copies printed from the internet are not acceptable). You can provide either the original (certification not required), or a certified copy as detailed below.

Certification is a simple, but very precise process. It is basically a written statement on the ID document, provided by a third party, whose occupation authorises them in the eyes on HMRC to confirm the ID is valid. Please make sure you get the following statements written exactly as they appear below, and that all of the required fields are completed (a seemingly small variation or omission from the below could result in the ID being classed as invalid and hence a new set being required):

Picture Identification – “I certify that this is a true likeness of the applicant”
Proof of Address – “I certify that this is a true copy of the original”
