Today’s US jobs data showed that, although US firms hired fewer workers in October, the jobless rate fell to its lowest in 6 months. Jobless claims in the last 2 months were also revised down, pointing to some improvement in the US labour market.

Non-farm payrolls rose 80,000 last month.

The US Dollar has gained strength on the release of the figures, with GBP exchange rates for sending US Dollars nearly a cent lower than this morning.
